Confirmation

Confirm, Lord your servant with your heavenly grace, and anoint him/her with your Holy Spirit; empower him/her for your service and keep him/her in eternal life.  Amen.

We will be running Courses about the Christian faith in the Parish later this year.  If you fall in to any of the following categories then you should seriously think about signing up.

  • Cradle Christian  - you want a refresher course all about Christianity.

  • Transfers- you have moved from another church or community and want to meet people

  • Young Christians- you are starting out on your journey of faith

  • Enquirers 1 - you have started or want to start your faith journey and you are looking towards baptism and/or confirmation.  You possibly have a              baby/child that you want baptised but you know very little about what it all means.

  • Enquirers 2 - you haven't really started your faith journey and just want to find out more in order to make an informed decision about faith matters.

  • Returnees - You have drifted away from God and the Church and want to take another look at what it's all about.

  • Learner /Supporter - Just wanting to learn about Christianity and grow in faith and/or support someone else who wants to learn and grow.

Learning about God and Christianity can be very exciting and it changes lives.  It can be really good meeting people but it also covers very serious matters.  God, faith and Church are not hobbies or general interests; they touch significantly on issues of life and death.  Why are we here on earth?  What happens when we die?  Is there more to life than the daily humdrum?  If there is a God, does that have an impact upon me?

Would you like to be confirmed and/or learn more about the Christian faith?

We will be running further courses in the parish. For confirmation candidates we will be using the supposedly "cringe free" Y course. It looks promising. The course is relevant to anyone who has not been baptised or confirmed or has been away from Church and Christianmity for a while.
